As the Sydney Roosters put the fining touches on their NRLW roster, versatile dummy half Shawden Burton is their latest retention.

Burton will stay on for two seasons until the end of 2027, with the club appreciating her service, work and commitment to her craft and the club since debuting back in 2022.

Roosters coach John Strange praised Burton for the consistency she has displayed when given the opportunity.

“Shawden has been an important part of our squad for a while now, and it’s been really pleasing to see her growth as a player and a person over the years,” said Strange.

“She’s a tough competitor who brings great energy and effort to everything she does, and her team-first attitude makes her a valued member of the group, so it’s great that she’ll continue to be part of our program.”

Burton is grateful for the trust and belief that the Roosters have shown in her.

“I’m really proud to be part of the Roosters and grateful for the trust the Club has shown in me,” said Burton.

“This team means a lot to me and I’m excited to keep building on what we’ve started and to continue improving over the next couple of seasons,”
