In some joyous news for the Hayley Maddick and the wider Brisbane Broncos family, the utility back has announced her pregnancy.

As a result, Maddick will miss the 2026 NRLW season but she is grateful to experience the next chapter of her life after a successful 2025 campaign as a player.

“Last year was such a special one for me, I achieved two big goals on the field, so it feels like the right time to embrace motherhood,” Maddick said.

“The Broncos have been incredibly supportive throughout this time and I’m grateful for that.

“I’ll still be around the squad this season, helping out where I can and cheering the girls on from the sidelines.”

Not surprisingly, Broncos coach Scott Prince says the club are ecstatic with the news for Maddick.

“This is a really exciting for Hayley and her partner, and everyone at the Broncos is absolutely thrilled for her,” Prince said.

“She’s a much-loved member of our squad and I know all of the girls will rally around her and support her every step of the way.

“We’re one big footy family and we’ll be right behind her as she prepares for motherhood, alongside the great support she has from her family on the Sunshine Coast.”
