They are serious about their rugby league in Fiji, and to further expand their already flourishing development of the sport in the country, the Fijian National Rugby League have started making attempts to recruit members of the public as additional referees for their games.

With limited match officials available for all rugby league games that are played in the country, the drive to recruit members of the public will begin on Saturday in Lautoka.

“Over the years, FNRL has lost referees due to retirement, work commitments and personal commitments,” the statement said.

“Rugby League staff will kick-off the public drive next Saturday in Lautoka with a Referees’ Refresher Workshop in Lautoka. Those residing in Nadi, Lautoka or Rakiraki are invited.”
