As the Dolphins prepare for the first ever NRL preliminary final, the retention of Kulikefu Finefeuaki comes as a major boost for the club moving forward.
Finefeuaki has signed a new deal until the end of the 2029 season and has been a key factor in the Dolphins successful season so far.
Joining the Dolphins from Queensland rivals, the North Queensland Cowboys in the 2025 season, he has established himself as a powerful edge back-rower for the club and in the NRL.
The new deal is an extension to his current deal which was to expire at the end of the 2027 NRL season.
After playing 37 games for the Cowboys, Finefeuaki has now gone past 80 total NRL games and with two internationals for Tonga to his name, club CEO Terry Reader backs him to get even better.
“What I think has been most impressive about Kuli’s rise in our squad has been his transformation as a player,” said Terry Reader.
“His work to turn himself into an 80-minute player on the edge who now plays State of Origin has been extremely impressive.
“We see Kuli as one of the cornerstones of our pack and are excited about what he can do for this club not only in this Finals Series, but over the next few years.”
