Initially, the Dolphins move for Selwyn Cobbo was all about a change of scenery. Fast forward to the present day and he has a new long-term contract at the club.
Initially signed until the end of the 2027 season on an existing deal, the new extension will see Cobbo remain at the Dolphins until the end of the 2031 season.
In his first season with the Dolphins, Cobbo was in scintillating form as he crossed for 18 tries in 19 games and cemented his spot on the left wing.
A big, hard-running and robust winger, his performances did not go unnoticed as he impressed for Queensland during the Origin series.
The environment, the club and the cohesion have suited Cobbo and Dolphins CEO Terry Reader believes Cobbo will only get better.
“Selwyn has made an immediate impact since joining the Dolphins and what he has been able to produce in his first season at the club has been remarkable,” Reader said.
“It is clear the environment has really suited him and he is enjoying his football – and Selwyn’s performances are underlining that.
“At just 24 years of age we know there is still plenty of great football ahead of him, and we’re excited that will be in a Dolphins jersey.
