Proving himself as a valuable asset in the Brisbane Broncos setup, the club has re-signed Billy Walters on a new deal until the end of 2026.
Whether it is coming off the bench as a hooker, starting games as a half or plugging gaps, Walters has done his role and as such, has been handed a new deal.
Playing in 35 of the last 36 Broncos games’, Walters is truly established as a key member of the Broncos side and he says he had no plans to go anywhere else.
“I’m super stoked to stay – I didn’t’ want to go anywhere else and the Club was happy to keep me so it’s a good result,” Walters said.
“I love playing here, the Broncos are the greatest club in the NRL and I’m just really grateful that they wanted to keep me around and I’m really happy to stay here for another two years.”
Coach Kevin Walters praised Billy’s resolve and perseverance over the years and say they have been rewarded in more ways than one.
“We as a club are proud of the way Billy has improved his footy since joining the Broncos – he has fought hard to get every bit of his NRL career,” Kevin Walters said.
“Some players get everything at their feet but Billy has had some injuries and some disappointment but he has stuck at it and worked really hard… and now he’s playing some good football for us and continuing to improve every week.”
